Who are we?
Pendle Opera Group was founded in 1978 and is now in its 34th season. It was formed by local singers who saw a need to stage operatic works in  East Lancashire, an area  not well served by professional opera companies. In July 2011 we changed our name to Pendle Voices to reflect the range of music we are now performing.
Location
Pendle Voices in based in East Lancashire which is in North West England.

The map on the right indicates that we are approximately in the very centre of Great Britain.

Operatic Productions
Our first production was Puccini's 'La Bohème' and we performed much of the standard opera repertoire. Our last production as an Opera Group was Menotti's touching Christmas tale of 'Amahl and the Night Visitors'.

Concerts
Recently we have staged a series of joint concerts with other groups and titles including "Bizet to the Beatles" and "Abba to Aida". We select music which both entertains and challenges, and also those that give a measure of both principal and chorus singing.

Facilities
Rehearsals take place at Brierfield Methodist Church in the Pendle area. These are normally held on Thursday evenings from September to May. We perform at at variety of venues including St. Peter's Church, Burnley, Burnley Mechanics Theatre and Brierfield Methodist Church.
