Robert was a founder member of Burnley Octet, and has since sung parts for local Societies including Pendle Opera, Preston Opera, Colne Operatic Society, as well as further afield for South Manchester and Bingley G & S Society.

Robert, together with his partner Stella (The Countess), is also a founder member of Kaleidoscope, a musical theatre group based in Rochdale, singing concerts ranging from classical light opera to modern musicals.

Past roles include Don Jose in Carmen, Camille in The Merry Widow, Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, and most recently Remandado in Preston Opera’s Carmen. He has also sung many of the G & S lead tenor roles, and indeed will be singing the role of Captain Fairfax in Yeomen of the Guard in April next year, as well as the part of Don Basilio in Pendle Opera’s The Marriage of Figaro in October 2006. The day job is running his own business as a freelance administrator & paraplanner from home.
