Jim Ogden is a founder member of Pendle Opera and has participated in every production since then either as baritone lead, chorus master or producer. Among his many roles are Macbeth in Macbeth, Valentino in Faust, Dulcamara in L’Elisir d’Amore, Germont in La Traviata, Gianna Schicchi in Gianni Schicchi, Dancairo in Carmen, Melchior in Amahl and The Night Visitors and Mr. Ford in The Merry Wives of Windsor. He tooke the part of Count Almaviva in our recent production of The Marriage of Figaro. He has produced The Magic Flute and The Bartered Bride.
He has also appeared in many Savoy Opera productions for Halifax Savoyards and Burnley G&S where he specialises in the patter parts playing a sympathetic and moving Jack Point in Yeoman of the Guard. He also won a NODA award for his portrayal of Salieri in Peter Schaffer’s Amadeus.
